Overall, the solar panel is a simple device consisting of a box with a transparent top, and its working principle relies on absorbing sunlight heat to warm either air or water that passes through the panel, with only one extra component added for water heating.

As shown in the first diagram, the basic solar panel has two main parts: a rectangular box and a transparent lid that fits on top of the box, with an inlet and an outlet on opposite sides of the box.

To heat air, cool air enters the panel through the inlet pipe. Sun rays pass through the transparent top and heat the air inside the box, and the warmed air then flows out of the outlet pipe as warm air. For heating water, the panel has an additional coiled water pipe placed inside the box, connected to the inlet and outlet. Cool water runs through this pipe when entering the panel, gets heated by the sun’s heat energy inside, and finally exits as warm water through the outlet.
